Sam is originally from New Jersey, but has lived in Colorado for the last 11 years. When not working or at internship, she tends to be spending time with her horse, Arrow, and going on adventures with her. She also enjoys hiking, traveling, and family time.
Sam decided to pursue a career in counseling due to her passion for helping others and believing that she could use some of her experiences to help others. After being diagnosed with anxiety and depression at a young age, and living through a number of traumatic events, she realized that she wanted to help those who were going through similar things. Sam had a therapist who helped her though most of her struggles and who she really looked up to, to the point that she eventually found herself also wanting to pursue helping people through counseling. Sam believes in working together with clients to help them work though their current struggles, and prepare themselves for the life they want to live. She also believes in equipping clients with the tools necessary to work through problems in the future with coping skills.
While working on her degrees, Sam has worked for multiple practices in the mental health field, and has been lucky enough to see it from many different sides and roles. “Working in the field just furthered my desire to become a counselor,” she stated.
